McLaren Flint is a nonprofit, 378-bed tertiary teaching facility located in Flint, Michigan, that serves the medical needs of residents in greater Genesee County and mideastern Michigan. McLaren Flint is affiliated with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in its medical residency programs, including family practice, internal medicine, general surgery, orthopedic surgery and radiology. McLaren Flint also maintains a hematology/oncology fellowship program in partnership with Michigan State University and a surgical oncology fellowship.
  • McLaren Flint is certified by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan as a Cardiac Center of Excellence.
  • McLaren Bariatric Institute has earned the prestigious certification as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
  • McLaren Flint is certified by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center, which is a center of excellence for the treatment of stroke.  
  • McLaren Flint is designated as a Blue Cross Blue Shield Center of Distinction for Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery and Spine Surgery.
  • The McLaren Cancer Institute has earned a three year approval award from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. The McLaren Cancer Institute was created to facilitate the integration of the oncology research and educational resources of Michigan State University College of Human Medicine with the physicians and facilities associated with the McLaren system. The result is the timely delivery of newly discovered treatment options as well as established standards of care to physicians and patients in communities throughout Michigan. The McLaren Cancer Institute has locations in Flint as well as Bay City, Clarkston, Lansing, Lapeer, Marquette, Mount Clemens, Mount Pleasant, Pontiac and Owosso.
  • McLaren Flint annually provides more than $31 million in free and uncompensated care to people unable to pay for services. In other Community Benefit services, McLaren contributes an additional value of $4 million in free and reduced fee community-based programs. These include numerous health screenings, health classes, 876 community health education events, 166 support group sessions, support of free medical clinics, health fairs, research activity, transportation for patients, blood drives, immunizations, support of cultural center activities and a multitude of other events that improve the quality of life in our community.
